Parent Involvement Policy and Compact

 Parent Involvement Policy
Antioch High School
(reflects changes through 12/15/08)

We respect and value the opinions and ideas of all of our parents.  Parents will be
encouraged to participate in planning, developing, reviewing and evaluating a written schoolwide plan called the School Improvement Plan which will include the planned use of Title 1 funds.  Parents will be encouraged to participate and volunteer throughout the school year in all school activities through the school website (www.antiochhs.mnps.org), an online calendar (Famundo), the callout system, and an Antioch High School newsletter that will be sent home with each report card.  Parents will be informed about their child's progress through report cards, access to Gradespeed to check grades and attendance data, parent-teacher conferences, progress reports, written notes, phone calls and e-mails.  Parents will be invited to participate in professional development that is offered to teachers.

Parent School Compact Antioch High School
(reflects changes through 12/15/08)

The Parent School Compact is an agreement between the home and school to jointly provide a quality learning environment in which each child can develop to their potential.

As a student I promise to...

* complete all assignments on time and to the best of my ability
* respect myself, my classmates, and other students and adults
* be on time to school and to each class
* set high goals for myself and work hard to achieve them

As a family, we promise to take responsibility to...

*  see that our child attends school and is on time
*  communicate and work with the school to encourage positive behavior and
    learning
*  attend parent/teacher conferences and support school activities

As a school we promise to...

*  show respect for each student and family
*  provide a safe environment for learning
*  operate on the belief that each student can learn
*  communicate and encourage family participation in the student's learning
*  provide frequent reports to parents on each student's progress
*  provide opportunities for community and parent involvement
