PENCIL PROGRAMS

  1. PENCIL Partners formerly known as Adpot-A-School are Nashville-area businesses, organizations, and faith communities that partner with a Metropolitan Nashville Public School.  Each partnership is unique because it reflects the needs and interests of the partner and the school.  Partners volunteer time and other resources to help students achieve academically, develop life skills, and make a successful transition from school to career.  Currently our PENCIL Partners are:
    1. Internal Revenue Service (IRS)
    2. Publix

  1. Jobs for Tennessee Graduates (JTG) is a model school-to-work program for high school senior, which began in 1983.  During the school year students are taught 30 work-related competencies designed to enhance employability skills, increase awareness of employer needs and expectations, and develop a realistic career plan.  The ultimate goal of the program is to assist students in achieving positive outcomes, such as high school diploma, employment, enrollment in post secondary education or training, or enlistment in the military.
