What is A+?
· It is a content and grade specific standards-based curriculum.
· It is a multi-purpose software program which may be used for standards-based instruction, assessment, remediation, acceleration, credit recovery, GED prep, ACT prep, Gateway intervention, or diagnostic and prescriptive instruction.
How will A+ be used at AHS?
· It will be used for both Credit Recovery and Content Retrieval during regular school hours.
· It will be used for Gateway intervention and ACT prep.
· It will be used for individualized AND whole class instruction.
Where will A+ be used?
· It will be used in the A+ Lab.
· It may be used ANYWHERE in the building on any computer with an Internet connection.
· It may be used by any teacher or any individual student. (Teachers and students must be enrolled in order to receive a user name and a password.)
Who will use A+?
· Credit Recovery: Students will be identified by guidance counselors and assigned to Study Hall/Independent Study in the A+ Lab. It will be a regularly scheduled class. All requirements must be met in order to receive credit.
· Content Retrieval: Teachers will identify students who have missed concepts taught in class, who have weaknesses in particular skill areas, or that require supplemental instruction. Prior arrangements will be made with the A+ Lab facilitator.
· New Learning/Supplemental Instruction: Teachers will request time in the A+ Lab for whole class instruction, drill and practice, intervention, etc. Prior arrangements will be made with the A+ Lab facilitator.
