Making A Change (MAC)

Philosophy

Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools want to promote good behavior rather than punish our students by removing them from school without guidance.  For these reasons we will allow students and parents the opportunity to attend out “Making a Change (M.A.C.)” Center in lieu of out-of-school suspension.

Narrative

While academic achievements will be a focus for the M.A.C. Program, our main objective will be “making a change” in the lives of young men and women.  In order to accomplish our objectives, the M.A.C. Center will utilize two main curriculum along with a certified teacher (Mrs. Higgs), educational assistant (Mr. Trotter), the assistance of Behavior Modification Specialist and other support groups.  The two main curriculums are:  Young Men’s Work and Young Women’s Lives.
