Biology Honors/Biology AP

Allow me to introduce myself. I was born and raised in a rural town in Western Kentucky. After receiving a Bachelor of Science degree from Murray State University, I taught in the state of Kentucky at Madisonville North Hopkinsville High School. Upon the completion of my internship year, I moved to Seattle, where I substitute taught for one year. My journey then took me to Los Angeles. I spent my first two years teaching at an Armenian private school, Manoogian-Demirdjian High School. My last three years in Los Angeles were spent in Los Angeles Unified School District at Le Conte Middle School. While teaching in Los Angeles, I received my Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction with emphasis on Technology from California State University. During my time in California, I was fortunate to enough to participate in two consecutive summer research institutes funded by the National Science Foundation. Upon completion of the first summer, I had the once in a lifetime opportunity of meeting Mr. Francis Crick. That is a moment I will never forget. Since moving to the Volunteer State, I have had many great opportunities. In the summer of 2005, I was selected to participate in the RET program at Vanderbilt University. This experience allowed to me to meet many great people, which leads me to say that I look forward to making Nashville my home.

Students and parents are encouraged to visit my website.  The site is currently used for AP Biology on a daily basis. I hope to incorporate this site into my routine for all classes next year.
