Mr. Carney is originally from Michigan. 

He served 23 years in the U.S. Army and during that time earned his bachelor’s degree in Social Science from Troy University.  He began teaching at Antioch High School in 2001.  He earned his master’s degree in education from Tennessee State University.  He also performs the duties of social studies department chair.

Mr. Carney is married and has two stepdaughters.
