Accounting II - Linda Waters
This full-year course is an advanced study of concepts, principles and techniques used in keeping the financial records of a sole proprietorship, partnership and corporation. Skills in departmental management, cost, and not-for-profit accounting systems are also covered. To receive two credits, one credit must be obtained through work-based learning (WBL). All WBL experiences must adhere to the Tennessee Department of Education polices and procedures.
American Business Legal Systems - Casandra Dowdy
This course provides students with an understanding of the legal frame-work in which an American business functions. The students will evaluate the influence a free enterprise sys-tem in a democratic society has on one’s daily decisions. Students will analyze the alliance between capital-ism and democracy. American Business Legal System satisfies the Government credit for graduation.
Information Management Systems
In this course, students will learn the skills necessary in problem solving using current and emerging information technology as it relates to professional careers. This course focuses on student choice, account-ability and competency. Students work toward the attainment of high-level employable competencies in areas which may include (but are not limited to) computer systems, computer applications, communication systems, networking, programming, ethical issues, social and economic impact, human relations and management. Students may choose areas of specialization. Student proficiency could lead to software certification. A two-credit, two-hour block is recommended for students pursuing certification and advanced training through work-based learning (WBL). All WBL experiences must adhere to the Tennessee Department of Education polices and procedures. This course may articulate to post-secondary education.

Students will develop basic skills in operating a computer keyboard by using the touch system to produce mailable business documents. Mail-ability standards relate to keying, formatting, grammar, punctuation, capitalization, spelling, content, typography and layout, and design. by using special features of the software, the student will be able to format academic and business reports.

Students will demonstrate advanced keyboarding skills in the production of mailable business documents. Industry production standards will be emphasized. Students will be evaluated on proofreading and editing skills. Formatting, typography, lay-out and design concepts will be applied in document preparation of business letters, forms, invoices, manuscripts, and tabulated and columnar information.
Marketing and Management I - Principles - Britt
This course focuses on the study of marketing concepts and principles, and their practical application. Subject matter includes economics, marketing foundations/functions and human resource leadership development. Skills in communication, mathematics and psychology are reinforced in this course. Students will examine challenges, responsibilities and risk managers face in to-day’s workplace to establish a competitive edge. This course satisfies the Economics credit for graduation. This course may include a paid, credit generating work-based learning component for students to earn up to two credits above the required one classroom credit.
